More about St Pierre la Mer
St
Pierre la Mer is bordered by the nature reserve of La Clape, a hilly area of great natural beauty where a diversity of fauna and flora abound. The "Massif de la Clape" takes its name from the occitan language, signifying heap of stones, in reference to limestone rock which forms the hills. The drive from Fleury d'Aude will show you what's in store for those who enjoy walking and hiking.

views from the house and on the way to the beach
The town of St Pierre leads a double life - Cinderella like calm during the winter metamorphoses into the full blown life of a seaside resort. The long sandy beaches invite you for a swim, and all sorts of activities are catered for: surfing, sailing, horse back riding; there is a funfair and often a circus during the summer months, and of course the large market, which sets up each and every day from spring to autumn.

During the off season the market carries on during weekends, but is somewhat smaller. In walking distance of Le Pluvier are all shops and amenities, as well as the beach. An Interrmarche supermarket can be found in Salles d'Aude, 10 km away.
