More about Gruissan
Gruissan is a lively seaside town on the edge of the nature reserve of La Clape. Here you will find everything within easy reach, to make your holiday enjoyable. Wind-surfing, sand-yachting, go-carting, horse riding and fishing are activities which can be enjoyed nearby and the picturesque centre of Gruissan is well worth a visit.

Numerous shops such as supermarket, news agent, bakery, launderette, butcher, bars and restaurants, are only a short walk away. Cycling tracks take you to Les Ayguades and Narbonne Plage, along a tarmacked route. You can also cycle into Narbonne along the Canal de la Robine, away from all road traffic, or take an excursion into Gruissan old town, along the lagoon where you can watch the flamingos. Bicycles can be hired locally by the day or week.

The "massif de la Clape" is a dedicated nature reserve, where you can explore nature and go for wonderful walks. The Clape area is also famous for it's wines, which you can taste and buy directly at the cellars of the growers. Gruissan is an interesting village, a "circulade", built on a concentric pattern around the ruined tower atop of the hill. Excellent fresh fish can be bought here and a lot of the restaurants around the port specialize in seafood. The salt pans, where sea salt is produced are also well worth a visit. A little farther away is Narbonne, with its impressive unfinished cathedral, the old archbishop's palace and archaeological reminders of the town's history during Roman times.
